Apply for Perusal Material (Musical)

1) Amateur performing groups (which includes Schools, Colleges and University groups) may have on loan one Libretto (Script) and one Vocal Score/Chorus Book per title for up to three full-scale musicals at one time for a maximum period of one month for a small reading fee. This reading fee is to cover postage, packing and handling and the amount varies depending on the weight and number of books included in the package. As a guide, the basic reading fee is between £3-£7 and up to £10 if three titles are requested. A small additional amount is charged where a CD is available for perusal. For a very small number of musicals, a demo CD recording of some of the songs is also available for perusal, and in such cases the reading fee may be a little higher.
2) Only an official from the performing group or teacher/member of staff from a school group may hire a set of perusal material — not an individual society member or a school student.
3) You may apply for Perusal Material by using the form below, or by telephone, e-mail, fax or letter, and we will need all of the following information:

• name of the performing group, school, college or university
• name and full postal address of the applicant
• daytime telephone number, in case we need to check anything with you
• title(s) of shows you wish to peruse, and whether both a Libretto (script) and Vocal Score required

4) You must return your Perusal Material in the same condition in which it was sent out with our covering Advice Note by the date given on the Advice Note together with payment of the fee quoted on the Advice Note.
5) A reminder in the form of a bill for replacement charges will be sent for material not returned by one month after the given return date. This bill must be paid promptly if the material has been lost, or the material must be returned immediately with payment of the quoted reading fee.
6) If your group or school is based outside the UK, Perusal Material may not always be available. We would need to check first of all whether we can license productions of the shows in which you are interested in your country, and if so, we may ask for advance payment of an appropriate perusal fee to contribute to Air Mail postage. Please note that some titles may be handled by a different Agent, or may not be available at all.
