Cancellation of order and refunds
You have the right to cancel the order within seven working days following the receipt of the goods thus giving you an opportunity to inspect the goods in the same way as when purchasing in person in the Bookshop. (Working day means every day of a calendar year apart from weekends and statutory and public holidays.) Notice of cancellation must be made in writing (letter, fax or email). A telephone call is not sufficient notice and is not acceptable. A refund will be issued by Samuel French Ltd within 30 days of notice of cancellation. We request that goods be returned to us in mint condition.
Exchanges
Books only may be exchanged, or a credit note issued (which may be subject to a 15% handling charge), up to 30 days following the receipt of goods, on the authority of the Customer Services Manager. Proof of purchase will be needed. Books must be in mint condition before exchange or credit is considered by Samuel French Ltd. No claims for exchange or credit are accepted after one month from the receipt of goods.
Incorrect delivery or faulty goods
If the goods Samuel French Ltd delivers are not what was ordered, or are damaged, or defective, or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity Samuel French Ltd shall have no liability to the customer unless the customer notifies Samuel French Ltd in writing (letter, fax or email — a telephone call is insufficient) at their registered address (52 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 5JR) of the problem within ten working days of the delivery of the goods in question. (Working day means every day of a calendar year apart from weekends and statutory and public holidays). If a problem is notified to Samuel French Ltd our only obligation will be, at our option:
Return postage
If goods are accepted for return the return postage must be paid by the customer.
